“Little Women LA” Star Tonya Banks Launches Delicious Wine For The Holidays
I sat down with Little Women LA star Tonya Banks to talk about her new wine “L’Tonya Renee” and naturally I had to try it as well. Let me say this, it was utterly delicious!
Here is what Tonya had to tell me:
Tell us about the new season of Little Women LA?
As for the new season, all I can say is you don’t want to
miss it. I love being on the show, and getting to share my
life experiences, while educating our viewers.
Can you tell us more about your red wine and what made you decide to start your own line of wine?
My wine is a unique red blend called L’Tonya Renee Wine.
It is 48% merlot, 29% Syrah and 23% Zinfandel with an
alcohol content level of 16.8%. This wine blend was
created for the perfect smooth taste. It is truly a wine for
any occasion.
Do you feel like you are competing with your co-star Terra with your red wine?
Not at all! Remember I did begin production of my wine
first. The world is big enough for both wines.
Should we expect more different types of wines in your collections?
Yes, next in my collection will be a Methode
Champnoise Sparkling wine arriving in 2019. I think everyone will love it!
Would you venture into other types of drinks like beer? liqueur? or cocktails?
Not sure. Right now, I am currently focused on my wine venture and adding more to the collection.
We hear you also have your own athleisure line as well, can you tell us more about that?
Athleisure line was designed to fit all sizes, from 0–3XL. I
used durable fabric that supports, contours, and shapes. It is
comfortable to exercise in with stylish and colorful
selections. Lil Boss Body has Sport Tank tops, T-shirts, Yoga
Capris and Sport Capris. My slogan for my Athleisure line is
“Bosses come in all sizes” This apparel can only be
purchased online at www.tonyareneebanks.com
What inspired you to become a female entrepreneur?
Watching my father take an idea and turn it into a cash
generating business. While growing up, my father created
his own maintenance company called “Banks & Brothers”.
Being a witness to my father’s businesses, I learned at a
young age that I could do anything I put my mind to and
that there are no excuses only obstacles and solutions.
What obstacles did you face in starting your business and how did you overcome them?
With the active wear, there were many, many obstacles.
There were times when I wanted to throw in the towel. I
remained focused, viewed the situation from different
perspectives, researched for solutions and then
persevered. When I stopped viewing the obstacles as
problems but as an unexpected situation, the obstacles were later
resolved through prayer. I also used positive
energy and great work ethics, which in turned allow me to not be afraid of anything standing in my own way.
Living by this logic has given me so much growth as a
person and boss. With the Athleisure, the biggest situation
to resolve was locating a seamstress that could make my
deadlines and remain consistent with the design of my
product every time. As for the wine, distribution was my
largest dilemma. In time and with research, I found Vino, who
broadened my distribution. I am currently in search of a
company that can distribute to other countries.
What’s next for you and your lil boss empire?
Busy, busy, busy I have been. I am currently working on a play that I will be starring in titled “Roxy.” After that I will be producing a sitcom spin off from
that play.
What is your best advice for young people looking to build their own empire?
My advice to whomever will listen is if you don’t stand
for something you will fall for anything. Don’t talk about it
be about it. Whatever you venture into, make sure you
love it enough that you would be willing to do it for free.
Remain vigilant and focused on the results. Don’t get in
your own way. Mistakes undoubtedly will occur, when
they do, learn from them. #MakeBossMoves
